Role Summary/Purpose The successful candidate will drive a tractor-trailer combination capacity of at least 80,000 lb GVW, to transport and deliver hazardous and non-hazardous materials into the customer tanks.

Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations.

Follow all applicable TDG regulations and appropriate safety procedures when transporting hazardous materials.

Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. Responsible for scheduling both preventative and unplanned maintenance.

Will need to communicate with scheduler, customer sites, inventory planners and sales reps to obtain delivery instructions and schedule unloading.

Secure cargo for transport, using straps, blocks, chain, binders, and/or covers. May be required to load and unload trucks, or help others with loading and unloading.

Primary routes will be deliveries to customers tanks pumping chemical from totes that remain on the trailer.

Position is based out of Oakville, ON and drive to all GE Customers in Eastern Canada, but not limited to ON, QC, NB, NS.

Willing to travel overnight

Experience:



Minimum of five years' in hazardous materials transportation

Minimum of five years' driving a tractor-trailer combination

All-weather driving experience (heat, snow, ice, hail, sleet, rain, fog)

Experience with Freightliner or Kenworth tractor equipment

Forklift certification Excellent communication and documentation skills

Attention to detail and strong math skills, Strong computer skills, Team player, individual thinker, Customer focused; positive attitude


Qualifications/Requirements SKILLS & ABILITIES Education:



High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Minimum of Five years' experience driving a Class AZ vehicle

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Boots, Safety Clothing, Safety Helmet, Safety Goggle/Glasses, Respirator, Gloves) PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
