Job: Truck Driver

ABOUT US: Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA) is a local non-profit agency that provides over 50 community-based programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families in Vancouver and Richmond. We create extended networks of support, invest in individual needs, and strive for an inclusive and safe community. Over 1,600 individuals and families in the Vancouver and Richmond area are serviced by the Developmental Disabilities Association every year.

THE ROLE: Our truck drivers play an important part in helping DDA raise revenue to support our programs.  With over 360 donation bins and a network of donors located across British Columbia’s Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Tri-cities and Sea-to-Sky Region, our fleet of drivers work throughout the day to collect and deliver cloth goods and small housewares for re-sale in local consignment stores. 

REQUIREMENTS: Education:  Grade 12 or Secondary School equivalent. Experience and demonstrated skill driving a 3-ton vehicle.  Excellent geographical knowledge of the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, Tri-cities, and Sea to Sky Region.  Excellent physical condition required.  Ability to work with minimal supervision.  Experience working with a pallet jack and power tailgate. Minimum qualifications include:  Criminal Record Clearance, Medical Clearance, Clean Driver’s Abstract Class 5 Driver's Licence.  Demonstrated competency in English.  Basic computer literacy.  Must be eligible to work in Canada.

HOURLY WAGE:
Permanent Full Time (PFT) $18.05 plus benefits; On-call $18.05 plus 9.8% in lieu of benefits.
